Using the Project Life Heritage Edition to Easily Decorate the Thanksgiving Table

I Love the neutral color scheme of the Project Life Heritage Edition, and thought burlap, black and white would create a pleasing modern rustic look.

Here is a wide-angle view of the whole table. I found the bundled wheat on Pinterest and gave it a try, and five hours later... tada! Thanksgiving centerpiece, thank you Pinterest!

I love how easy this was to print on, and how this color scheme from the Heritage Kit is so easy to work with. Seriously!! This goes with everything people:)

I am so excited about using the 3x4 journaling cards, from the Heritage kit, for guests to write what they are thankful for this year. Place card, decor and thanksgiving week journaling all in one... Yes, please!! Thank you for visiting my little blog today!

Project Life 2013: Week 40

For Week 40, I decided to make the focus all about my daughter! This is her birthday week, and I wanted to highlight her personality, likes and dislikes, and celebrate the unique creation she is! I took photos of some of her favs right now and journaled about some of her interests, goals, food, quirks and style at age 15. I will really enjoy creating one of these pages for each year now and can't wait to see how she learns and matures each year! Love you daughter!!
As I always say, You are only "insert age here" once! And my daughter always says, "Mom, you are only every age once!" True 'dat girl!! But each age, and or season, is one I want to celebrate to show how much they are loved.
The Just Add Color Project Life kit, and the Jade Core kits were great for mixing this week, and I really like how the colors coordinated.

Project Life 2013: Weeks 38 & 39

Week 39: Loved using the new "Just Add Color" Edition of Project Life available on HSN this fall! It worked great for my square Instagram pics, and the new 2"x 2" size is adorbs!! Added computer journaling, and letter stickers, and the family die cut is from Simon Says Stamp and Memory Box.

Week 38: Seriously, how cute is the Amy Tangerine/ American Crafts Cut &Paste Mini Project Life Kit??  LOVE it! I also used the Studio Calico August Project Life Kit cards as they are  Amy Tangerine Cut and Paste, and the stickers are from Amy Tangerine/American Crafts "Yes, Please" line.

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the blogosphere!

Weeks 35, and 36 Project Life 2013

Mixed the June and August Studio Calico Project Life Kits (Roundabout, and Marks and Co.) and one Seafoam Core Kit card. Only a few embellishments used: letter stickers, cork arrow, sequins, and washi tape. The week card is a picture of our new doormat, with "WK 35" letter stickers directly on the photo.  A very quick spread!

Week 36 is made with the Marks and Co. Project Life Kit (August) and the new lined 3x4 blank journal cards, and 4x6 blank white textured cards by Becky Higgins LLC. I used a Ranger Detail Waterbrush to add the watercolor to the lined journal card on the right, and the frame around the top photo.

Thank you for looking!!

Project Life Week 34, 2013

Hi Project Lifers! I used the Glitz Design washi tape to continue the lines of the label spot on the Seafoam Kit card. This gave me room to add the larger Week 34 American Crafts Thickers.

Using the Becky Higgins LLC. Seafoam Core Kit, and the Studio Calico Monthly Project Life Kit and loving them both! Horizontal photos are taken with my Nikon D90, and vertical 3x4 photos are from my Iphone. I print all my photos at home on my Canon MX320 using Ilford Pearl Paper.

The woodgrain butterflies are punched from Studio Calico More Woodgrain add-on (Patterned paper), and the sequin butterflies on the last 3x4 card on the right are from the Studio Calico August Card Kit.
Washi tape: Glitz Design
letter stickers: Studio Calico June Project Life Kit
wood veneer: Studio Calico
spray: Heidi Swapp Color Shine

The Project Life tab at  the top of my blog has all the weeks from one to 34, in one location.
Surprise! Don't forget to follow my blog , as I will be giving away a Midnight Edition Core Kit coming up soon!!

DIY Cork Board Tutorial

This simple cork board tutorial has only three materials. Super simple guys whoop, whoop!!

#1--Take the glass and backing out of your frame.
#2--Use the backing to draw a line on your foam core and cork.
#3--Cut out both pieces and I used my ATG gun to adhere the cork sheet to the foam core(to prevent slipping)
#4--Place in frame and fold down the prongs on back(frames with the metal prongs to hold in the picture work best in my experience )

Thank you for visiting, and be sure to comment and subscribe to my blog.

DIY Craft Table Tutorial

Pinned over 20,000 times.
Thank you for reading my
DIY
CRAFT TABLE TUTORIAL

This is the photo on my DIY Pinterest Board.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled tutorial to bring you this PSA. Think safety first!!  Please don't forget to wear safety goggles, earplugs, and a mask:)) This is me using the power sander to redo our stairway.  Now onto the DIY Craft Table Tutorial!!

My craft table was made using the following tools: The size depends on the size of your room, and allowing for a 3-4 foot clearance on all sides. My table is 6 feet x 4 feet.

*3/4 inch thick Birch Plywood (cut to size at your home improvement store)
*carpenter's wood glue ( I used Gorilla Wood Glue)
*finishing nails
*stainable wood putty
*drill(bit size= smaller than your finishing nails)
*red oak trim molding(enough to fit around your table, cut to size at store) mine came to 20ft.
*stain of choice( I used Minwax Stain and Sealer in Bombay Mahogany)
*power sander
*3/4 inch square dowel
*safety gear( Earplugs, mask, goggles)
*work gloves
*countersink tool
*stain applicators of choice(read the back of your stain can to see if it recommends a brush or staining cloth)

Apply wood glue along edge of your tabletop and place trim , hold in place while you drill a pilot hole through the trim and tabletop. Countersink your finishing nails. Repeat for all sides. Apply wood putty over the nails and sand after dry.

Countersink tool.

My red oak molding came in 20 foot sections, so in order to use one piece, I just had the home improvement store make straight cuts the same length as the sides of my tabletop. Then to fill in the gap at the corners, I used a 3/4 inch square dowel and attached it with wood glue and finishing nails. I used the power sander to create the detail to somewhat match the molding trim piece.

Apply stain according to the directions on your can,  and allow to dry appropriate time before placing on your bases. Enjoy your handiwork!! Thank you for visiting today and don't forget to subscribe and comment to make my day:)

Styling for Week #34 Project Life

Here is my style/ mood board for the feeling I wanted for week 34. Photos inspired the color scheme. Since the most dominant color in the main photo was red/orange, I decided to go with the complementary color (opposite on the color wheel) of blue/green. Used the Seafoam kit, and the Studio Calico Project Life kit for June, and the SC Card kit for August. Thank you for visiting today!!

Retrosketches #68, Card for Maddy, And HA Contest Card #16

I used one flower from the Hero Arts Set Remember#AC028, to repeat it down the center, and then made a mask with that same flower out of thick card stock. Then traced around the outside of the mask with the Faber Castell PITT artist pen (India Ink). New MFT stamps by Lisa Johnson have such lovely sentiments.

I did a Clean & Simple version of the sketch to highlight the stamps from Hero Arts. Thank you for visiting and happy stamping!! Retrosketches #68, thank you!!

My 15th Card for the Hero Arts Stamp Your Story Contest/ CARDS for Maddy Drive
