Craft Room

After over ten years of using this room as the kids playroom,
they outgrew all the toys, so it was time to change over this space into my Craft Room.
It's the space over the garage and measures 13 feet by 19 feet.

We removed the carpet and had this laminate installed.

Yes! I built my craft table all by myself!! And you can too!!

Just a couple of quick acrylic paintings I painted for my new craft room.

    1. Hi BeadsByCelleste ! Thank you ! Thank you! Ummm, as my sister Stacy would say, "It looks like a craftnado went off in here". So it definitely does not look like this, like ever, ha:) I just happened to take pictures first. I usually clean the craft table when I can no longer see any brown table top, and who would have thought 4 feet by 6 feet could be too small?? I kid, usually just clean it after each project:)

  6. How did you make the table... looks like you have a thin piece and a thicker piece of wood...did you ask a lumber yard to cut you a thick piece?? Also, did you glue it on the storage bin container?? PS your room is gorgeous, I am modeling my new room after yours a little bit :)

    1. Hi Ashley! Sorry I have been ill and away from my blog for so long! Here is the link to my DIY craft table tutorial:http://scrappyleigh.blogspot.com/2013/09/diy-craft-table-tutorial.html
and you can also just click on the sidebar pic called DIY Craft Table Tutorial, and its all explained there. My 3/4 inch birch plywood top is pretty heavy, so i did not glue it, but it just rests atop the bookcase storage. Thank you so much for your kind comments and good luck with your room!!

  8. Leighann. I LOVE your table. At the present time, I use my kitchen table for everything because I really have no place to cut large pieces of fabric, or paper. Your table is just beautiful!! Exactly what I need in my craft room to keep me IN MY CRAFTROOM!! LOL

  10. Are the file cabinet / drawers / open cabinet all part of the Bedford collection from PB? I love the look of them and considering buying a few pieces from that collection. I'd love to know how you like them? GREAT craft room!

  11. Beautiful room. Love the craft table you built. Do you happen to know the measurements of the room? We are in the process of moving and it's hard to imagine what I can fit in my new room. Your room looks really big.

    1. Hi Cindy@Scrap-obsessed.blogspot.com,
My room is 13feet x 19 feet and I used 1/4" graph paper to draw out the furniture and table in the room. This way I could move pieces around on paper and ensure a 3 foot clearance around all four sides of my custom table. congrats on the new house and new room!
      Thanks for your comment, Leigh

  15. Thanks for sharing!! This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for (to purchase) for a homework/school/project table for my children so they don't ding up our kitchen table! Guess I'll have to make one!

  16. Thank you for sharing. We are buying a new home and I have fell in love with your room. You have so much great detail in everything. We are looking for a room about that size. My husband has agreed that I can have the master bedroom if any other room isn't large enough. God blessed me with him. He's going to make a table like yours also. Thanks for passing on all the information and the time you took to write up tutorials. You're the greatest. Have a Great Day!
