Project Life® and Ikea: How to Organize and Simplify Your Desk Inexpensively

So Ikea opened in town, and hubby and I spent our 22nd Wedding Anniversary there!

With just four Ikea desk organizers,
I was able to declutter, simplify, and organize my kitchen desk!

Here's how you can do it too!

View of the whole desk! Gray storage ottoman from Target. The only new purchases are the white metal Ikea Desk organizers, called KVISSLE. The box with lid set of four, desk organizer, letter tray, and magazine file set of two. The white vase holding fresh roses is from Ikea as well.

Project Life® is a part of everyday life around here. I love to document our family, and it is a simple and easy way to get that done. Part of paring down, simplifying and decluttering this desk was to only bring back absolutely necessary items into the space. One Project Life® album, the light pink Sugar Paper LA planner as my Project Life® planner, and the Websters Pages Color Crush Planner for Family Planning. You can see details on how I use the Project Life® planner here at BeckyHiggins.com/goodlife . You can cover the Ikea magazine file with your choice of scrapbook paper. Here, I used the Heidi Swapp new Marquee Love paper on a roll, and the Pink Paislee Fancy Free scrapbook paper designed by Paige Evans on the left.

One pair of scissors, one black American Crafts journaling pen,  We R Memory Keepers Confetti Punch, pencils and a ball point pen. The succulent and planter came from West Elm, purchased last April.

All the white frames were in my craft room upstairs so they were free right? :) They are from Michael's Arts and Crafts Store Studio Decor line. Had the pegboard from a previous project, so cut it down quickly with a jigsaw to fit inside the white frame. The four box set from Ikea holds post it notes, bill paying essentials and stamps, and rubber bands.

The letter sorter from Ikea will hold one tray of incoming papers for each family member, and this makes it easy to add ephemera to our Project Life® albums. Think movie tickets and such. The bottom shelf holds the Currently Edition Project Life® Kit!

American Crafts Details gold paperclip magnetic tin fits right there on the side of the letter sorter. Candle from Papersource. It smells like lemon gelato!

These Heidi Swapp Marquee letters are for my name Artful Leigh! Used the new Pink Paislee line by Paige Taylor Evans called Fancy Free!!! Yay!

This itty bitty 8x10 pegboard holds just the essentials! Project Life Currently line flair can be found at www.BeckyHiggins.com

Threw in some foam core board and the adhesive backed cork to make a cheap cork board and the gold washi holds some inspirational Project Life® cards from the Currently Line.
