Craft table is in da house!

I finished building the bases for my craft table. I chose these bases because the openings are big enough to hold scrapping materials, they are 48" wide by 37"high, and the large wheels make it easy to move if need be.

Artwork for our art/craft studio

Here is the artwork that my daughter and I painted last weekend . We like to use acrylic on canvas. Daughter painted the sand and flip flops, and I painted the sea and sky, and we both painted the palm trees. This is one of my favorite ways to spend the weekend, relaxing and creating together.

Still need the corner workstation, and two open file bases

The gap in the work top will be filled with a corner workstation, also Pottery Barn Bedford office. I love this rug from PB Teen. This rug was the color inspiration for the room.

Nine BIG boxes, 693 pounds of furniture carried up the stairs,  and one thankful wife(that's me) = a craft room nearing completion.

Card display idea for new craft room

I LOVE to repurpose items from around the house, and I came across this chain that used to hang stuffed animals up in the craft room (formerly known as the playroom). I just put the rubberized cup hook post through the center of the flower and attached it into the ceiling.  Instant display for all my cherished cards from family and friends! Now that's a lot easier than building a craft table. If you didn't happen to have saved one of these from like ten years ago, you could use jute, cording, or clothesline and clothespins to fashion a similar device. Just an idea, since I haven't tried those out firsthand:)

More staining

I am adding more coats of stain .It requires hand rubbing the finish in between coats. I am going for  a chocolate cherry finish in the end product.

I used My Skil sander to round all the edges and cut detail into the square dowels added to corners to match the oak molding.
